Why invest in Croatia? PDF Print E-mail

“A bliss of over 1000 immaculate islands, 2000 kilometers of coastline with clear, unpolluted water; offers without doubt, the most remarkable and unsurpassed coastline in Europe”

With most of the “Why invest in Croatia” reasons remaining the same for the last few years; Croatia, unlike some of the other property investment countries, enlarged its list of reason; and those are:

  • Highly improved infrastructure – new motorway connecting almost the whole country; this year has been completed down to Makarska Riviera.

Despite the crises and recession; the construction of the motorway all the way down to Dubrovnik continues. This part of the motorway is going to cost over 3,5 milliard bilion kuna. Croatian government decides not to stop the infrastructure projects while the recession lasts, because those projects guarantee work places for Croatian citizens and secures income.

  • The construction of the new bridge on Peljesac peninsula that will connect the country without driving thorough town of Neum (the only coastal town in Bosnia and Herzegovina). This act will have a significant impact on the property prices on the Peljesac peninsula but primarily on the increase in the number of investments on the peninsula.

For more information on the bridge on the Peljesac Peninsula please see our section with news.

  • EU membership in 2010 which result with the increase in property prices but increase in more investment projects.
  • Necessity for higher supply in all segments of property investments.
  • Foreign investors have the same rights, obligations and legal status within an enterprise as domestic investors.
  • Highly educated and skilled labor force
  • Friendly environment
  • Stable economic growth.

Although in the past few years considerable number of foreign investors pulled out from Croatia; mostly due to the issues related to the zoning and planning, the Croatian government, to some extend managed to protect the Croatian coast from the mistakes that happened in Spain. And, it might not come to people awareness, but Croatia is estranged as a more exclusive destination (both when it comes to tourism and property investments) with an upward trend.

Some of the “repeated in the past” facts that still prove that Croatia is indeed prosperous spot to invest are:

  • Access: 2 hours by plane from London, Paris, Rome, Frankfurt
  • Natural beauty, favorable climate and life style
  • Safety - low criminal rate

Away from the coast, the prices are still very reasonable; offering countryside with lakes, mountains and forests from another era.
